My family loves this recipe and it is very easy to make and you just need just a few ingredients. Even my oldest who doesn’t “like dumplings” went back for seconds!
You will need:
- 3- 32 oz cans chicken broth
- 2 cans (8 count each) refrigerated biscuits
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 4 cups shredded chicken – I use a rotisserie chicken
- 1 tsp pepper
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 -1 tsp onion powder (I used about 3/4 tsp)
- 1/2 tsp dried rosemary (can add more to taste)
Directions:
- In a crockpot add chicken, heavy cream, salt, pepper, onion powder and rosemary.
- Cook on high for 2-3 hours or low 5-6.
- While that is cooking, cut each biscuit into 8 pieces – they don’t have to be exactly even- I just cut in half then cut each half into fourths.
- The last hour of the cooking time add the biscuit pieces into the crockpot, cover and finish cooking for remainder of time and until biscuits are cooked through.
- Serve and enjoy!
*I don’t measure a lot of my seasonings… so these are my guesstimates at amounts- I always say to adjust to what you and your family will like.
You can use fresh chicken and just extend the coming times so the meat cooks through (about 4-5 hours on HIGH and 6-8 hours on LOW). You could also make this in a Dutch oven on the stovetop.
