I love all the season for different reasons. Fall is definitely one of my favorites. I love the coziness of the warm colors, textures and the wonderful smells.
When updating the decor in my home I keep these things in mind to create that same feel in my home. I want people to enter and it feel like a warm hug. A place that is comfortable, relaxing and cozy. Over the last few years, I have been simplifying the spaces in my home. When decorating for the seasons of the holidays, I carry the same “more simple” approach into the spaces I decorate. I feel like it keeps the space feeling less cluttered, is less to clean or dust, and I can enjoy my favorite pieces even more.
When changing your decor for the seasons you don’t have to have all new everything. I try to keep the large main pieces in my home fairly neutral so they will carry through to every season. Then I will swap out pillow covers, throw blankets, greenery stems and scents (for example: diffuser oils or candles). This also allows for less that needs to be stored seasonally.
I am going to share some of the spaces in my home from my 2023 decor and will link sources for each space. I hope these views will help to inspire you as you begin to decorate your home for the fall season.
