If you haven’t ever had homemade Alfredo sauce… it’s a must try! You will never go back to the jar stuff again! It doesn’t require many ingredients and is easy to make. This is the recipe I have used for years. You can make it with or without the chicken.
Ingredients:
- 2 (9-oz) pkg fettuccine (I prefer the refrigerated kind) or one 16 oz box
- 1/4 cup butter
- 4 TBSP All-Purpose flour
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup milk
- 2.5-3 Tbsp minced garlic (I use 3 tbsp)
- 3 cups freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 3 cups cooked chicken, shredded (I use rotisserie)
- salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook pasta according to package directions.
- Meanwhile, in a large Dutch oven melt butter over medium heat. Once melted whisk in flour. Continue whisking constantly for 2 minutes.
- Stir in milk and garlic and continue to whisking until mixture is thickened and bubbly.
- Remove from heat and mix in cheese until melted. Add salt and pepper to taste.
- Add pasta and chicken to the sauce mixing to combine.
- Serve and Enjoy!
We like to serve ours with a veggie and slice of garlic bread.
I hope you’ll come back soon for more recipes, home decor, DIY’s and all the in between.
