Spring is the time of new beginnings, fresh spaces and what better time to get your home in tip top order. I love to open my windows, pull up my hair and give my entire home a deep cleaning. While spring cleaning can definitely be a chore, who doesn’t love a freshly cleaned house to welcome warmer days ahead?
I get asked- a lot- how I keep my home clean with two active boys running around? Well truth is- it’s not always immaculate… and while it may be clean… it’s very rarely neat and tidy- and that’s ok. I will take those 30 seconds of clean AND tidy when I can get them.
So what do I do to give my house a deep spring cleaning and what products do I use?
While I tend to be a creature of habit and use what works for me and is “tried and true”, I also like to try out new products. Who knows, I may very likely find a new product that I LOVE even more and becomes part of my “regular” cleaning go-tos.

I was excited when Babbleboxx asked me to join them in their Spring Cleaning Campaign. Most of the items are ones I already use and love, and there are a few extras I was excited to try out and share with y’all! Today, I am excited to share some of my tried and true products, as well as a few new ones I was able to test out with Babbleboxx.
So first- this is the order I usually work when I start my Spring cleaning. I always start at the top and work my way down, saving the floors for last. I vacuum all the corners of the ceilings and around the edges. I dust off shelves and any items on them. If they need a more deep clean- I’ll run them through my dishwasher. I clean my windows. Wipe down all the cabinets. Then I dust and wipe down the baseboards. Then I sweep/vacuum my floors then mop. I also wash any smaller (and washable) scatter rugs and curtains.
Now, on to products – what do I use?
Microfiber cloths tend to be my go to for wiping down countertops, cabinets, even windows. They help you get a clean and streak free shine. So let’s look at some of my favorite product I use when I clean.
First, a vacuum is a must. One that can get into tight spaces and has a dust attachment is even better. I was recently able to try out this great new Flash Corded Stick Vacuum from Eureka. I love that it is a more compact size, but still has great suction and power. It has some great features too- making it super user friendly. I love that it is corded- so no waiting for a battery to charge. It is able to deep clean both carpets and hard floor surfaces. It has a swivel head, reaches under furniture easily and has an LED light to help you see those darker nooks and crannies. It has a great 2-in-1 attachment that works as a dusting brush and there is also a crevice tool- perfect for those ceiling corners and baseboards!!! Best part- it has a portable storage base when it’s not in use and it all fits nicely in my pantry for all those after meal messes- you know- crunched up Goldfish crackers and Cheerios- you mamas know what I’m talking about. Another favorite product that I have used for quite some time is the Lemi Shine line of products for your dishwasher. I love that they do all the hard work without the gross chemicals- non-toxic cleaning makes me one happy mama. The Lemi Shine Dishwashing Detergent pacs work amazing at cutting through grease and that stuck on food that gets left behind, using the cleaning power of citric extracts. I also use the Lemi Shine Dish Detergent Booster to help my dishwasher run more efficiently and prevent those water spots and film from forming. I love to give my dishes and glasses a fresh wash during spring cleaning- especially those on my open shelving. With the Lemi Shine products I know they will come out clean and shiny every single time.
Now when I am cleaning my cabinets, baseboards, and walls- yes walls- remember I am a mama with boys- scuffs and coloring marks tend to happen… my go to is the Mr. Clean Magic Erasers. Have you used these yet? If not- you are missing out! These look like a sponge, and clean like MAGIC!!! They quickly remove scuff marks, even coloring from walls! All you have to do is wet it, squeeze it out and ERASE! The Magic Erasers are a mamas dream! They are also available in Extra Durable for those tough jobs, Magic Eraser Bath for the bathroom jobs, and Magic Eraser Kitchen. I use them everywhere- walls, cabinets, countertops, baseboards, floors and more!
I was also able to try out a new product that I will now be adding to my regular cleaning supplies and routine. The Scott’s Liquid Gold One Clean Home foaming cleaner is amazing! It can be used on multiple different hard surfaces, both indoors and out! I love that it comes in a no drip foam formula, and the grapefruit scent is refreshing and smells so clean. It helps you clean all the greasy and grimy messes while being safe for people, pets and the planet. I tried this out on my stainless steel appliances, my laminate floors and tile floors and immediately loved its cleaning performance! You can purchase the new Scott’s Liquid Gold One Clean Home foaming cleaner either at Amazon or Lowe’s.
I hope this has helped you as you tackle your spring cleaning in your home… and maybe helped you find a few new projects to use to make quick and effective work of your Spring cleaning.
I hope you’ll come back soon for more tips, recipes, DIY’s, decor and all the in between.
