I loved the blue-and-white ornament inspiration I saw from Magnolia and wanted to make a version that felt like our Christmas. Using air-dry clay and a pretty floral napkin, I created these simple handmade ornaments in colors I can mix with the pieces we already love.

Supplies
- Crayola air-dry clay
- Blue floral paper napkins
- Matte Mod Podge
- Ornament cutters
- Rolling pin
- Small paintbrush
- Ribbon
Shop the supplies I used:
How to make them
- Separate the top layer from your napkin,
- Roll out the clay – I rolled out about 1/4″ thick.
- Place the napkin (print side up) on the wet clay
- Add a thin layer of matte modge Podge, and immediately cut the ornament shapes with your cookie cutters.
- Remove the cut out shapes from the rest of the clay.
- I use my finger and a little water to smooth any edges as needed,
- Make a small hole near the top for the ribbon- I used a drinking straw.
- Let the ornaments dry completely- I let mine dry for 48 hours on a parchment paper lined cookie sheet,
- Once the ornaments are dry, brush a thin coat of matte Mod Podge over the back and edges to seal the bare clay.
- Let the sealer dry, then thread ribbon through each hole.
- I used 3/8″ ribbon, I made a loop to hand from and a separate bow that I had glued on.

I love how these turned out—simple, personal, and just right for our Christmas colors.

I hope these handmade blue-and-white ornaments bring a little nostalgic charm to your Christmas tree. I’ll be sharing more simple Christmas crafts soon, so come back for the next project—and follow along on Instagram for a peek at what we’re making next.
